Other players can't connect to private hosted server

Quick overview: My friends and me wanted to play together on a private server. For some reason it didnt work so i searched the internet what could be the problem and now im here because nothing has changed.

I did:

-opened DCS multiplayer

-host server

-changed the name so its easier to find

-selected "public server"

-selected a passwort

-selected a multiplayer misison

-start server.

Server seemed to run, i could play but nobody was able to connect. So i checked a few more things.

-port 10308 is open, TCP and UDP

-windows firewall is opened for port 10308, TCP and UDP

-we all had the same DCS version 1.2.14

Server wasnt in the server list and further not accessable through direct connecting ( i gave them right ip with right port and right passwort)

I gone trough so many tutorials i dont know what to do. Maybe someone can tell me what i have done wrong. Would be happy for an answer.

Is DCS listed in your PC's windows firewall allow or exception list and checked?

one thing you can also do is if your hosting make sure you are on LAN......then tell all people that are joining your server to use ADSL setting 2048

this seemed to help me a lot when i host....and the clients seem to have more stable connection.....hope it helps...and best of luck...:)

Its probably your router that is causing problems. Static ip is the way to go

i think not, every time my router restarts i get a new i if its what you mean. I tried the same but now my buddy tried to host a server but he got the same problemes. maybe the new 1.2.14 causes problems? cause since that version i got random kicks from server. i can play for maybe an hour and then i got kicked. strange thing...

.....if your saying you don't have a static ip address and it keeps switching...that would be the issue to correct.....

i tried it now with someone having a static ip and we all have the same problem. server is up, but we cant find it in the server list ( even if we wait up to 15 mins after 100 times of refreshing and searching ) and we also can't connect via ip

do you have a static ip? if not, you need to create one.

Most important is to know if the port forwarding is actually working on the server, I know you said you checked it, but does that mean you actually checked it by sending data with a testing program.

I use the Portforward.com application for doing this, so you know that the data is actually capable of being transmitted correctly, below is the link for my procedure.

It is also possible that your ISP (Internet Provider) may also block certain ports, etc, that may be stopping if from working.

the point is that we all cant create an own session. joining on other servers isnt a problem, but we want to play somehting for ourselves somtimes.

Ok my squad has similar problems no listing port is open 10308 and working both ways some times the mission is listed and sometimes not regardless when people try and join they just get a pause symbol and np conection even with direct connect yet 1 or 2 have joined and we have flown together once or twice very random any luck with your yet I would like to know thanks
