Wichow Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Hi all Wen you are in the F1-LCTRL (Natural head movement view ) if you zoom you do this right in the HUD Center, perfect. When you are in the F1 (cockpit) view, if you zoom, you zoom right over the black lower part of the HUD, and you need to maintenat your head so steady (I use TrackIR) in order to point your view near the center of the HUD ( atacking targets for example) and at high zoom levels there is no precision to fix the view. I would like to have the some "zoom center" in the F1 view just as the F1-LCTRL (Natural head movement view ) Some help? Some body know how to modify the center point of the Zoom view in the F1 view? (*.lua) Thanks friends
slug88 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Hmm, I'm using trackir and I don't have this problem at all. It sounds like you need to reset your trackir center point when you start the game. By default, the key to do this is F12. However, this will cause a conflict with BS, since that key does something else within the game. Therefore, you need to remap the centering key in the trackir software to something else, like printscrn: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Wichow Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) I found the solution, just modify the Snap[9][13]["vAngle"] = -15.592758472369 parameter with this Snap[9][13]["vAngle"] = 0 in the Config\View\SnapViews.lua Thanks slugs 88, my TRACKIR works OK Edited May 24, 2009 by Wichow

joey45 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 I use the keypad. Cos I use TIR I take off the view commands on the keypad... And most other commands for switches in the pit for that matter.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Jack McCoy Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 IMHO, you should not use "Natural head movement view" (not to be confused with Head shift: LWIN-F1) when using TrackIR. It's kinda like putting an autopilot on your line of sight. There's a LUA modification to set the default to off, discussed in another thread. Head shift, is annoying to me and I turn it off, but still one might find it enjoayable. This simulates being tossed around in the cockpit by helicopter accelerations. It seems to me that the seatbelt "stiffness" is not right for a military-type harness. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.

All the discusion is about I have a triple monitor configuration and I use a "tweaked" lua monitor configuration, (Shkval + 3 camera view + Abris) and also the Fov has been tweaked for this configuration (defaul 90 aprox. 135 in my configuration). Because this I am more confortable looking a little bit higher ( more room over the hud) at the estandard F1 view having the view centerd. Also the Zoom, in my case, I prefer zoom near the HUD center that zoom near the lower Hud part when the trackIr is centered . Edited May 26, 2009 by Wichow
Jack McCoy Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Indeed, I am also bothered by the zoom which is centered on the center of the screen. I changed the snap angle. Nice tweak! How in the world did you figure this out? Did you modify the 117 vAngle values one by one? This also creates problems when one uses the Helmet-Mounted Sight at high zoom level. Do you think it's possible to move the HMS reticule down to the center of the screen? i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
DickDastardly Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 The procedure to fix the HMS reticule is described here. As Alex says, though, changing the HMS angle breaks track reproducibility. The easiest way round that issue is to write a couple of batch files: one to replace SnapViews.lua, Helmet.lua and PADLOCK_device.lua with the modified versions, and another to swap them back for the originals when you want to watch a track. Cheers, DD 1
Jack McCoy Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Works nicely. Thanks a lot. Now if ED Team can program the left right shift of the reticule to match our real-world head when using TrackIR... i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
