Ka-50 Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign

Similar to the DCS A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification Campaign MapleFlagMissions is pleased to announce the launch of a similar campaign for the DCS Ka-50 Black Shark 2.

We are proposing the following syllabus (based on a real world helicopter training curriculum but subject to change as the missions are developed and feedback from users is received):

Contact Stage (Visual Flight Rules):

1. Perform Ground Taxi - BFT01 Available Now!
   
2. Perform Hovering Flight - BFT02 Available Now!
   
   
3. Perform Takeoff, Approach and Landing
   
4. Visual Flight Plan Navigation
   
5. Fly Traffic Pattern
   
6. Perform Slope Operations
   
7. Perform Roll-On Landing and Go Around
   
8. Respond to Emergencies
   
9. Perform Autorotation
   
10. Negotiate Wire Obstacles
    
11. Perform Unusual Attitude Recovery
    

Instrument Stage (Instrument Flight Rules):

1. Instrument Takeoff
   
2. Instrument Flight Plan Navigation
   
3. Perform Holding Procedure
   

Formation Stage:

1. Fly 2 Ship as Wingman
   

Low-Level Stage:

1. Perform Terrain Flight Navigation
   

These are not training missions per say but "check rides" or performance objectives. You will need to meet the mission requirements in order to get a "Qualified" rating.

I realize that for many it is easy to jump into the cockpit and start shooting at targets. For others passing some "qualification" missions first, gives them more confidence when the shooting starts.

BFT01 - Ground Handling is currently broken in the latest 1.2.7 release.

One of the flight activation triggers is not operating properly causing the mission to stall half way.

We should have a fix available for it soon.

Is there any plan to complete these? I would love to have a campaign dedicated practicing proper handling techniques like this.

Yes we are planning to and hopefully in 2014.

Unfortunately we have been sidetracked by the Tactical Training Qualification campaign for the A-10C but it is on our roadmap.

I wish I could give you a more specific ETA but it's at least a few months away.

We intend to do the Ka-50 Qualification Campaign along with a UH-1H Qualification Campaign (basic missions are similar so we can hopefully re-use some of the mission logic).
