Succellus Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Anyone know if TM will realease new MFD to match warthog ones? (More buttons) And with working screens?:D:joystick: HaF 922, Asus rampage extreme 3 gene, I7 950 with Noctua D14, MSI gtx 460 hawk, G skill 1600 8gb, 1.5 giga samsung HD. shu77 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I thought the only difference was one set of toggle buttons? Succellus Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 I thought the only difference was one set of toggle buttons? Ok youre roughtly right right ? But what about working screens ?:D HaF 922, Asus rampage extreme 3 gene, I7 950 with Noctua D14, MSI gtx 460 hawk, G skill 1600 8gb, 1.5 giga samsung HD. hassata Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I'll be first in line, but I doubt it. You can get creative though http://www.3sqn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1848&page=2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sweinhart3 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 MFD cougars are for 4" displays. Warthog uses 5" displays. There is an extra set of toggle switches and a 3 position rotary switch. To my knowledge TM has no intention of building warthog mfd. But Im not in the loop so dont take that as fact. shu77 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 See personally I think 8" screens are over rated. You can buy them for about $200 each on e-bay. Alternately you can buy a 22" now for $125 (AUD prices mind you) and do a custom view file in Blackshark (so you would assume DCSW aswell) that puts the images inside the MFD frames and then mount the MFD's to that screen with space for some instruments on there as well (now if only there was a US version of LOVP) Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools
Succellus Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 fact is TM know how to do it (true MFD) but will not. They stated it on SIM HQ. They arranged themselves with ED so DCS A10 will recognize them and preset them like the real plane. Flim Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) gimme gimme, that looks awesome, but the screen grab is also the sort of thing I was talking about. a 1 monitor cockpit, using a retired 19 or 20" I can justify to Home Command, a $400 investment in 8" screens not so much. We did the A-10 for TM really quick ( short notice) , in which the software was in early beta. Basically the SCsimulations Helios software( designed by GADROC) will be the link between real or touch screen switches. Also you will be able to make you own touchscreen mfd's and ICP or any panel you desire- then make it work in sim via touch. Here is an example of running F-16 functional MFD's and ICP( using all touch) it works like an ipad or iphone. SCS will have the A-10 version of the mfd's done for HELIOS when DCS-A10 is released. As you can see below, I'm using the HP 2105tm and also have used the ACER 23 inch touch screen, both work very well. Now if your really motivated, you can have 3 touchcreens and be able to have an entire (any aircraft) cockpit functional on the touchsreens(virtual touch cockpit) or stick with one monitor and tab through different consoles. Now, if you don't want touch, then you still can run all the instruments or design your own in Helios. We will have more info and better pics soon. Edited September 1, 2010 by Flim 1
hassata Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Flim, provided it is not covered in the NDA, could you give some indication of the performance hit of exporting the MFDs, including lightening Pod video etc. and whether such export is possible across a network? Also any idea as to price point for helios? Feel free to tell me to mind my own for now. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
shu77 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 No need for touch screens I reckon, getting the MFD's and instruments on a second screen to use with the TM's would be great. I would also be interested in the frame rate hit of the software Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools

Then run some gauge software, btw no noticeable frame rate hit, and your good to go.
