deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I have a question. I have noticed that after landing during a mission for repairs, re-arm, or refuel, when I take off again, and re-enter the target area, if there was an awacs, or other support group helping me in the mission, they seem to be gone when I get back to the target area. theres no communication from them, and none of the targets that were being lazed prior to landing, are being lazed when I get back to the area. Is this a bug, or is it supposed to be that way? Dont let the smell get to ya...............

deadsmell Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) K copy that Wags, but what about the targets, that no longer have "diamonds" indicating they are being lazed? Edited April 5, 2010 by deadsmell Dont let the smell get to ya...............
deadsmell Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Let me try to clarify: When flying the A-10 in A2G mode, on the HUD some targets will have a "Diamond" indicating their position. These targets can be cycled by pressing the left cntrl + ` keys. After landing during a mission, and then returning to the combat area, all those diamond targets are no longer highlighted. Now I have searched through all the documentation, searching for keyword "diamond" and to be honest, it doesnt really cover the information im after. I would like to know why those targets have a diamond, (I was under the impression that they were being lazed by another support group of some kind), and why that diamond goes away after landing and returning to the target area. It is an active part of the simulation, not a scripted part of the missions "story" or "plot" or whatever you want to call it. Something is actively designating those targets for some reason, and then after landing, they are no longer designated. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
ED Team Wags Posted April 6, 2010 ED Team Posted April 6, 2010 You need to have a wingman. 1 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
deadsmell Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Bingo, lol ok, there it is. THANK YOU!! That makes sense now. It was just something I was wondering, and then I couldnt figure it out, so it started eating away at me. Thank you very much. It seems that once my wingman lands, hes done for the day. Is that correct? So if i want him to stay airborne while I patch up, or refuel or re-arm or whatever, i just tell him to vector to a waypoint. Thank You Again!! Im really happy now that I know that lol. Dont let the smell get to ya...............
majapahit Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 on the HUD some targets will have a "Diamond" indicating their position. These targets can be cycled by pressing the left cntrl + ` keys. are u sure? because I cant, ctrl+` does nothing (only in NAV mode?) a diamond seems to (quick flight) change only after it being destroyed? | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
deadsmell Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Yeah Im sure. Try orbiting at a safe distance from the combat area, and allow your wingman to start calling out targets. After he has called out a few, try cycling through them again. You will be able to cycle to the targets he has identified. or even in quick flight, those first few targets, you can cycle through the three of them right from the start.
