DieHard Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) I noticed the Dora's gunsight is to the right of my centerline in cockpit looking out as to the Numberpad numeral 5 key as the "View Center" default. I do not use TrackIR. I map my hat for views looking out and around. I remapped the in-cockpit view default looking at the center of the gunsight's reticule using Right Shift+Right Control moving the view to what I want and saved that position with Right Alt+Num0 . Numberpad numeral 5 now brings me back to my new mapped position as View Center. I am happy with that, until a later beta may change this. My search as to the term "off-center" without the quotation marks, I only found this thread discussing this issue as reference, and using TrackIR : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128293&highlight=off-center Wish there was a Snap View for a quick look back beyond my tail that I could map to a button. The P-51D has this nice feature as a dedicated Snap View. ========= LATER_EDIT: ========= Pretty good "Check 6" workaround with the current first beta is left and/or right quick view: Right Shift + Numpad 4 and/or Right Shift + Numpad 6 I mapped to a left and right button. AndyJWest Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The off-centre gunsight is historically correct for Fw 190s (and Bf 109s too).
DieHard Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Yeah, but I am sitting in the cockpit looking out, left of the gun sight's centerline. I have TrackIR 5, I just don't like using it. So what to do in a sim, not a real human sitting in the cockpit that can move their head over easily to aim? My fix works great for me. Passing on the info in case somebody else needs a solution.
