Got my new T-50 CM2 Base today... i´m a bit shocked!

Should that be so?

What do you think? Whats your experiences with this base? Are your bases inclined too?

I will also open a ticket, but know from own experience that it can take a while... unfortunately :ermm:

I´ll unscrew it and see what´s goin on in there!

And for the sake of warranty: it is a new unused product, but it's made to be opened, right? ;)

btw: I also have a second-hand cm1 base here, which also has an inclined position but is not as big and in the other direction lol.gif

The resistance increases a little! ;)

But I found that misalignment is not my problem

and i could ignore because i belive it has almost no influence on my controls.

What is really bad is the asymmetrical distribution of forces.

So the resistance to the left is bigger than to the right. In the same way, it is stiffer downwards than upwards.

And THAT could be the exclusion criteria for me, unless someone has a solution for it.

Try changing the cams and springs and look for anything obviously wrong. Broken items, springs slipped from placement during shipment, mismatched spring weights, mismatched cam profiles. If not you waited too long and paid too much to have a broken device. They should swap yours out for a new unit.

Yeah... Trying to help here.

The reason I asked was that if the springs aren’t tightened, the stick will lean out of center.

Try the Kosmo sim cams. The Avia sim cams seem to produce an uneven force distribution.

Yes, i know, thank you! :)

If i set the feathers loose there are no opposing forces and I can straighten it out but the slight inclination (see pic) is no longer my problem, I could live with that.

What´s an absolute no go is the asymmetry in the application of forces:joystick:

I don't want a controlsystem in which I have to use more power to the left and down than to the top and right.

I could even live with the difference between nose and tail, that could be reasoned aerodynamically, but a noticeable different in left and right wing down ... no way!

I really tried everything, even the cosmosim cams (damn, i don't wanna fly a space shuttle or play SC:no:)

But nothing changes the asymetrical distribution of forces.

I wanted to set up the CM2 like my CM1 to fly jets. Medium springs with medium effort.

Nothing fancy here. I´m an average guy but always striving for improvement and optimization.

But i have no chance to reduce this imbalance. Unless i turn down all tension:joystick: but for "flying" a Heli, i have my MSFFB2.

So i have to give up now and send it back. Together with a defective 7.5 cm extension, which cannot be screwed on.

Too bad, i would have liked to take it. I would happy to come back to VPC if they offer an improvement and not an deterioration over my used CM1.

btw there is a thread about asymetrical behavior:

And to be clear: The CM1 is the best base i've ever flown

Yes ok, it is also a little crooked, has a slight asymmetry in cam behavior

but nowhere near as pronounced as the CM2 No comparison to it.

My CM1 was a used one from second hand market and relatively cheap, whereas the CM2 is brandnew and costs a lot of money.

Go to Virpils forum and see that there are a lot of people with defective products and getting no response from them. I was going to order the same Base but now I am going to wait and see what they do. I saw one guy has been waiting for months to get replacement parts for his base. He has no response from them for days still.
