Merlin-27 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I was perusing the manual and wondered if this was simulated in the DCS 51. It's a very minute detail but considering that I'm constantly impressed by the granularity of the working systems in this aircraft I became a little curious. And if so, which tank, fus or left main is the return. I believe this would make a little bit of difference if using the fuselage tank as you would want to use that tank first. I guess it's a moot point, as you would naturally burn the fus tank first to diminish the adverse effects of the weight that tank induces. sobek Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Left main. If your tanks are topped off, you would definately want to drain a little bit out of left main first before switching to center. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Merlin-27 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 Good info. Thanks for the reply. I believe I read that it's up to 10 gallons per hour that is scavenged and returned. Probably negligible in the grand scheme of things but I wonder if it was enough to get you out of a pinch if you were in a low fuel situation while enroute to base.
