Hello,

I have the boxed (cd) version of the original DCS:Blackshark and the downloaded version of the DCS:Blackshark 2 Upgrade.....

What is the correct procedure for installing both of these?

1. BS1 (CD)

2. DCS World (download)

3. BS2 Upgrade (download)

For the current BS2 to function, you need DCS World (which is free). For the update version of BS2 you also need BS1 to be installed.

BS1 could be de-installed once BS2 is activated (i.e. installed & run for the first time). But I recommend to keep the BS1 installation if possible ... so if you ever have to re-install DCS BS2 or anything else regarding DCS World, you can already skip the slow CD install of BS1.

I believe BS1 also needs to be activated, as in start a mission.

Why does BS1 need to be installed before installing World?

Because I had to decide for one of two possible variants to write down! ;o)

But your question is valid. In fact it is only relevant that BS1 is installed before BS2Upgrade and DCS World of course before BS2Upgrade.
