Release: Unknown Erla Built K-4

"wnr 570375"

Photographed by US troops at the end of WW2, it's the only Erla built K-4 to ever be captured on photo.

Its monotone camouflage colour (Erla variant of 81) makes it a very sleek aircraft to look at.

I took some artistic freedom because of the limited camera angle the original photo was taken at, tried my best to keep it accurate to a certain degree.

Fixed the undersides of the wing and fuselage.

You need HDR on to get it to look like the screenshots!

Installation:

 

#1 Unzip folder to DCSWorld/Bazar/Liveries/Bf-109K-4

#2 In skin folder, choose .lua file from two sub-folders for swastika or clean and copy file to main folder with other files (Default .lua file is for swastika!)

#3 In DCS, select "Payload" tab in Mission Planner and select the skin from the Paint Scheme dropmenu below

Erla built 109's have always being my favourites, thank you very much! Hopefully we have Erla G10 in game some day...

Skin looks great and makes 109 looks very sleek and mean indeed :)

Couple of notes: triangle marking in over oil filler hatch should actually be under the hatch:

Natural metal underside looks nice, however couple of differently coloured panes would highlight it better, now it looks kinda like it is painted to grey :)

I can try to fix the undersides but I might start on a different project first.

I just double checked and you're right, that seems indeed to be the way in Erla built machines. My first comment based other 109's and Wolowski's profile of Erla K4 so my bad. :)

No worries, I got confused at some point as well.

Different manufacturer equals different hands working on it I guess =)

Also, how are you sure these undersides where natural metal?

Was it like that with most Erla produced airframes?

I based mine of that same profile painting which depicts 76 and some lighter tone.

To be honest I'm far from an Experte on 109's but I try to do my research the best I can hehe ^^

Yes, most of very late 109s had undersurfaces left on bare metal to save time and paint. Erla is especially known about that. There is quite lot of pictures as a proof.

JaPo, Wolowski and other well known researchers agreed on this. 76 were still used to protect those parts wich was not metal like ailerons and sometimes panel seams.

Trying to see if I can do the metal undersides the same style as my JG6 D9

Do you know how the actual fuselage undersides looked like? I'm finding it extremely hard to find reference for that.

Metal as well or 76?

Regular blue 76 was most common for Erla

76 for ealier, but for late it was usually overpainted with same color as uppersurfaces:
