IS Mirrors in DCS still backwards?

at this time i dont have DCS installed. but after seeing some youtube videos,

the mirrors in the virtual cockpit look amazing.

But I like to ask, if the Mirrors are still BACKWARDS??

last time i played DCS, when i get up close to the mirrors, the view inside the mirror goes out wide, and when i get far the image in the mirror gets close...to me that is back wards...

has there been improvement for the mirrors? other than that, they look great from what i have seen in videos
