pbishop Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Now just imagine what that looks like with eyefinity :(
Boberro Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 What do you mean focal point? That distortions in the cockpit? Too large FOV :D But I must say in Falcon there is no such weird look. In LO\DCS always. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Weta43 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 In LO\DCS always Not always, only if you have the FOV too wide - though what counts as 'too wide' varies from aircraft to aircraft... It makes sense - if you have a true 3d world, and you turn your view into the equivalent of a fisheye lens, you get a fisheye view... Cheers.
Boberro Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I don't know how it is DCS compared to LO in technical way. But in Falcon when I am zoomed out in maximum way I have no distortions. In LO\DCS it is worse. Perhaps F-16 cockpit is less prone to this effect due to enormous large of view area through the cockpit without any metal frames around you. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
PeterP Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Weta43 is right: ...BUT: Mastiff has also a point. I also think it is more worse in the Su-25T cockpit now as it was in FC.... Have not made a direct comparison up to now. And I don't fell like installing FC only for doing this test. As i said: I think it is more worse in DCS:Wold now. But this can be a side-effect of using only A-10C/Ka-50 for a long time and I'm biased now because of this. As the Cockpit implementation is done with much more care with the DCS-Modules as the old FC-planes. I'm really not sure... Keep in mind: The FC-Cockpits wasn't implemented with 6DOF in mind. They where build to pan your view only in the X/Y axis and not in the Z. Edited June 14, 2012 by PeterP
