I Purchased in 2010 a CD Boxed Copy of LOMAC 1.0 from Amazon.com

this item is installed on my computer and works well.

I purchased FC3 from the DSC website.

When i try to install it says A version of LOMAC, FC1, or FC2, Must be installed.

It is installed LOMAC 1.0

I have opened ticket with DCS support system ticket ID 17320

Screen shots below.

Thank You for your time.

Did you ever install on that computer/windows a version of FC1 or FC2 ?

If yes, registry entries for this may well still be there, and FC3 installer then looks for them instead of looking "only" for LOMAC v1.0.

Did you upgrade your version of DCS World as well before trying to install FC3?

No, If i needed to buy FC1 or FC2, why didn't they say that? They said Lomac, FC1 or FC2 to install. Not LOMAC AND FC1

You don't need them. FC3 is supposed to install either with a copy of LOMAC or FC2 installed. You don't need both. The problem, unfortunately, why the FC3 installer isn't recognizing that you have LOMAC installed.

EDIT: I was hoping that it had something to do with the DCS World version you had but, unfortunately, I guess it doesn't. And I just don't know enough about the FC3 installer to know what it's looking for.

If you haven't already, run LOMAC and try installing FC3 again. For that matter, have you tried downloading FC3 a 2nd time?

I shall do what you request. I downloaded torrent Ver. of FC3.

I will try the other DL links.

DCS:World and A-10C works great after 1.2.2 patch for release of FC3. I can swear i got better frame rates when i was flying A-10C today with new patch.

I have downloaded a second time. This time from the first USA mirror Link. Still same result, It says i need LOMAC installed. When i start the FC3 Installer exe.

Should i just forget about it and get FC1 for 5.99 and install it or am i going to get same result?

You don't need it. That was not my question.

But, if FC1 or FC2 were, at one time, installed on a computer/windows, then uninstalled, windows registry may keep something of that. And then, when installing FC3, the program searches for the most recent version (because the registry says it's there) and doesn't find it (because it was uninstalled).

As said Ironhand, if you didn't ever install FC1 or FC2 on your computer/windows, then you are not concerned (that was to determine that that I asked you about it).

And as said Ironhand, the problem, unfortunately, why the FC3 installer isn't recognizing that you have LOMAC installed.

No, don't buy anything else, we'll sort it out (or ED will, at last).

Could you please, just to be sure, show us your registry (make a screenshot) for the HKCU>Software>Eagle Dynamics branch ? We don't need the content/values (that's private, don't publish it) but just to see what "keys" (=directories in the registry) you have (=you need to unfold each directory for making the screenshot).

For example, that's mine : http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=72994&d=1352458164

Please make & post the same screenshot for your computer.

Cheers

FC3 installer should not be fooled by stale FC1/FC2 entries. It checks exe files as well.

It's interesting to know where topic starter's LOMAC had placed its registry entries.

It should be 'SOFTWARE\UBISOFT\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On' on 32-bit Windows and 'SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\UBISOFT\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On' on 64-bit.

Indeed.

For some reason LOMAC installer didn't create registry entries. Let's do it ourselves.

So, please, create a chain of keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

UBISOFT

Eagle Dynamics

Lock On

Then inside SOFTWARE\UBISOFT\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\ create a String value named 'Path' with the path to your LOMAC installation as a Value.

It will work if done right.
