Hi all, I am recruiting pilots and RIOs for my F-14B squadron. If you're interested in participating in 30+ jet operations, regular training, building friendships, and sharing a love for the mighty Tomcat, you might want to join us! Flying the Tomcat is a challenge to your airmanship, but it's also a thrilling experience that we'd love to share together. Currently, we have 6 real-life pilots in our sqn. We've developed mixed airframe tactics with our sister Hornet squadron, VFA-97, and we share CVW-73 together as a carrier air wing, we have a pretty chill but focus vibe, I think you will like it. If you are unsure, feel free to book a trial fam flight with us to see if you like our vibe. Squadron Name: VF-143 under vTF-77 Time zone/OPS: Primarily US-based, training time is 2000 PST (GMT-8) every Tuesday and Thursday. Minimum age: 18 Realism Rating: 3/5 (casual milsim) Roles Needed: F-14B pilots and RIOs Requirements: SRS (mandatory) HOTAS for pilots VR/Head tracking device Ownership of the Syria, Persian Gulf, Sinai, and Supercarrier modules, as well as your dedicated primary aircraft. (It's okay if you don’t have all of the maps at the beginning.) Notes: vTF-77 has nearly 300 members and 8 squadrons, including professional AWACS and aggressor squadrons, operating different airframes and missions. VF-143 primarily provides CAP capabilities to assist other squadrons from various branches during missions. Typically, 30+ aircraft will be involved. If available, we also participate in strike missions. VF-143 is a structured squadron with a casual vibe but a focused mindset. We have some real pilots in the group across different squadrons, and we share knowledge together. If you're looking for fun and intense tactical moments flying the Tomcat, come join us! See you on the flight deck! Squadron website: https://www.vtf77.com/ , discord: https://discord.gg/vtf77 If the link to our Discord isn't working, please feel free to send me a DM! When you join, you'll be in the lobby, and our staff will be there to assist you.

Bug: AIM-54 will launch within 10 miles and not track with the ACM cover up. Can I reproduce it 100%: Yes If not 100%, how often out of 10: 8/10 How to reproduce/description: Method 1: Step 1: Lift ACM cover (regardless of radar lock status) Step 2: Fire AIM-54 Result: The AIM-54 will not track the target even if target was launched near the ADL and hot off the rail which will result in the loss of a missile. My assumption is that it takes perhaps a couple of seconds before the missile starts deciding the track any targets within an FOV which is why sometimes you will get a kill but not others. DCS Version: 2.7.6.13436 Open Beta System Specs: i7-8700k GTX 1080 Ti 32GB RAM SSD Samsung 1TB 860 EVO OS: Win10 Peripherals: Joystick: Saitek X56 Throttle: Logitech X56 Headtracker: TrackIR + TrackClipPro Mission File: See attached. There have been multiple instances where Aim-54C has simply failed to go aqquire a target or go active in a given situation that simply should not happen, Today I got the most blatant case of this that i literally just closed DCS. I was flying on the GS server at angels 45 ish at mach 1.6-1.7 to engage a F15 going about mach 1.8 also at angels 45 ish, I fired a Aim-54C at about the 1:19:15 mark on the Tacview file at a range of 45NM. The Aim 54 proceeded to close to 8NM with the nose pointing RIGHT at the F15 and then proceeded to pitch up and come within 1.9NM of a F15 who didnt change course or even MANEUVER in response to this missile. So, why did it miss? Target size was set to large, we supported it until it supposedly went active, so why? Here is a link to the file serverside: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13LGyIMA63Dr6FgT7i2ryfBsdIv5zVFqq/view?usp=sharing Here is a link to my track file clientside: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YCZ6DCQ42_kI1r5Mz36Pdn2L6-5mJIVa/view?usp=sharing And here are pictures from tacview itself Edit: I would've included a direct video clip of the whole thing happening but my rio and I's reaction to watching this happen was quite... Vulgar and wouldn't be appropriate to post on the forums raw, so I'll upload one without audio:
