Cougar MFD's issue, in game compared to position in my pit they are switched

For some strange reason in the options my MFD controls are backwards...meaning if I select the right MFD in the options, it controls the left MFD in my pit. The same thing goes for the left MFD in the options controlling the right MFD in my pit.

Mine too. I think got a solution for that. Give me 30 mikes and I will upload.

Well ok shorter than 30 mikes :smilewink:

Attached is the small mod I made to correct this. I haven't noticed this in pre 1.2.7 versions. I am pretty sure that in 1.2.6. I could select myself which input was for right and which was for left.

It is just renaming inside the two files F16 MFD lua files in the game folder as you can see and that have done the trick for me.

It is ready for JSGME but please notice that I have re-set the button input as I have inverted my MFD cougar pack in order to avoid the wire running infront of the screen. You probably have to remap them.

Cheers

Thanks HMA, I'll try it later tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: It works, but the buttons on the right MFD are not in order. Instead of going from top left to right 1,2,3,4....etc...they are all over the place. I also can't program the right one.

Mine had a bit of a bender after the new patch, they swapped, swapped back and also copied over some of the UFC controlls onto the MFD.

I just had to re-map all the keys in my profile.

You have some other inputs dont you from your pit, is there anything weird on other panels?

Yeap that because mine are positioned upside down. When pushing top left (OSB1) on the original setup it will register as OSB 11.

I have attached a one where the buttons are in the correct (original) order so that OSB1 is the top left button.

I can't remeber if I also swapped Brightness etc but I will check later as I am at work now.

I am pretty sure that the reason you can't program the MFD is beacuse ED made a change in how the MFD joystick files. In 1.2.6 and before I don't seem to recall that the MFD were preset as right or left. So when mapping each button I just went into the setup and selected left MFCD, OSB1 and mapped it to the button I wanted to. Now it looks like MFD1 (designated by TM I guess) has to be left MFCD.

So basically what has been changed in the .lua files is that F16 MFD 1 was preset to Left. I just did find-replace on all Left so that it read Right instead.

Cali, I have checked now. I have not done anything to Brightness etc so files below should be good to go :smilewink:

It's doing the same thing with the new files you sent me....weird. I'll mess around with it later tonight and try to see what's going on.

I don't think you did anything wrong because it worked fine when I swapped the files. I'll redownload them and try it again.

HMA - You saved my butt with this MOD!!!

I had glued up my MFDs to a bracket with epoxy. When I saw they were backwards I nearly crapped myself.

Thanks for making this - made the fix soo much easier!

Ahhh, that's why my buttons are out of order, because you have them inverted.
