  1. Is it just me or are the keystrokes/button mappings for the controls to the windshield wipers not working? Would be nice to map these with the rain starting and stopping. Thanks
  2. For the F14 - I was away for a couple of months. Just updated everything. Was there a change that would cause this message: " RIO recipient is not available at this time." When I request "Startup". Thanks
  3. OMG Thanks buddy for putting in the "new 2.5.3" by the new commands. Made updating my comm checklist soooo much easier. You are a coding god walking amongst us. Great app, great price, great support! Thanks
  4. That's great vid Nimo, thanks for posting a link to it. Now I do not feel so bad about not instantly connecting to the basket every time!
  5. Awesome !!! You are a total Superstar!! Just an FYI you missed a ' in Custom but no problem Notepad++ picked up on it. Fixed: {down=device_commands.WEAP_Emer_Jettison, up=device_commands.WEAP_Emer_Jettison, cockpit_device_id=devices.WEAPONS, value_down=1, value_up=0, name=_('EMERG STORES JETT Button'), category=_('Custom')}, -- *** CUSTOM PUSHBUTTON ***
  6. Fubarbrickdust - The Radar Altimeter knob is awesome!! I totally understand HB not taking away from their development time to create keys. So getting important buttons like this from the community is awesome. Radar Alt is important because when you are flying low (esp. in the rain at night) letting go of the stick and grabbing a mouse to adjust the radar altimeter knob is a virtual death sentence. Another good one would be "Emergency Stores Jettison". Vital when one gets surprised. :juggle: So I just hope common sense buttons like these are the priority when HB gets time for the few to include. Thanks again - Fubarbrickdust and the amazing team at Heatblur!
  7. Roger that K-K. That is excessive. Maybe flying/looking directly at the sun you might see that. Perhaps it is a graphics engine lighting evolution in development that will change - lets hope. A couple of things for fun - - One thing that does not seem to be visually modeled - I suppose would bring computers to their knees - are interior reflections (mainly helmet reflections) can be distracting. - Another would be cool "if" would be dynamic bug splats. LOL Based off of time of year and altitude. Ok carried away here - more splats flying low over rivers and farms like IRL - I crack myself up. Neither of these ideas is a real game idea just fun "what ifs".
  8. @kdrum: God bless the working man! Gives me a giggle thinking about a chief flying with a dirty canopy. I can see him staring at the smudge the entire flight wanting to "polish" it off and it drives him crazy. :megalol: So no disrespect and only respect for maintenance personnel, but I prefer the not so perfect canopy. Here is a recent pic in a VFC-13 F-5 flying over the Clan Alpine Mountains SE of Fallon. Despite the best efforts of "Adversary" maintainer.
  9. Viacom Pro user here. Love it! Is the a single place to see the Changelogs? Reason is I created my own Checklist with the commands organized as I need them. However when you add commands I need to update my checklist without digging through forums to find new commands. Very happy with my purchase and now find Jester to be a fluid process.
  10. Hello Radial, I am programming my panels for the Tomcat right now in GFKeys. I have 7 panels. The radio panels and MCP are not programmable but switches and buttons are. I do find the knobs do not work too well as they tend to not be very precise. Also if it helps I created a print out so I can keep up with what I have programmed. This is for the panels I have and not very universal but you are welcome to use them. They are made smaller for a pilots checklist book. PS I am on win7 but do not see why win 10 would not work.? Example: Link to the PDF w GFT8s x 2, GF P8, GF MESH, GF LGT ll, GF RP48: GoFlight PDF
  11. Glad it helped Boyezee! Always happy to help one of the ACG guys (my old squadron = 5 JG26)
  12. So I have not read through all of the other pages and normally would not join in to this due to I feel developers stays on top of things...but.... just so the squeaky wheels are not the only voices heard. :) I feel now we can see AC waaaay too far away. Like a F5 over 20NM out is not realistic. Unless you are Chuck Yeager. Lol At first I was like great easier for me to spot targets way beyond my radars capability but then you have to consider one of the very few advantages of the F5 is it's size and being hard to spot. Same for the MIG 21. I mean you minus well throw in a bright spot light on the ground underneath the airplane or something....Just having a laugh guys. Lol
  13. After Xmas glue a stick up it's tailpipe and make a pilot briefing stick with it....saving $60 they charge for the same thing. :)
  14. Great sounds like you are making progress. I tell you I have respect for someone learning the basics before trying to go out to fight! So reps to you. Yes for me anyways I have referenced lots of material in creating a brief before flying. Then on the flight I go up and check visually for landmarks (much as you are doing) and then see how they match up. After the flight I then adjust my waypoint on my map to reflect the "semi" exact location. A great resource is Google Earth Pro and then add the wonderful 476th plugin. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=154593 ED has really done a great job on the NTTR map. So much so that you can use real world imaginary as references. After many hours of just flying around (not fighting) and learning the map with a Circle sheet and using it to make notes on - I mostly just keep TACAN 18X dialed in and can tell from the terrain where I am at. Most of the time I am only flying the same areas so no need to learn the entire map. This could be another long thread in itself.... Here are a couple of real world pages for your planning. Circle Sheet: http://godsofthemachine.com/SPT-PDF/111-Circle-Sheet.pdf Cross Country: http://godsofthemachine.com/SPT-PDF/111-Cross-Country.pdf With the circle sheet - Dial in the TACAN - fly to the reference point you are briefed on. Then make notes on the circle sheet of what you see visually. You can then update that point on your map (in my case on my own map not the DCS maps) Note: update your map when you are on the ground and not fumbling around in the cockpit. So on the ground open Google Earth, find the point you noted on the circle sheet, update your map with the exact dcs/realworld data. Before long you can memorize/visualize the nav points along your most traveled routes. This may seem like a convoluted process but the more you train the less you have to think when the time comes to fight. Adversary pilots are known for being great navigators as it is necessary for the debriefs. Example of circle sheet marking: (red is what you wrote)
  15. Hey Buddy, I really appreciate you saying thanks! If it helps anyone it was well worth the effort. As for your question. Humm I am not sure. I have never used the F10 to view the map while flying. I am a total nerd on navigation and that breaks the immersion for me. Same with the kneeboard. In saying that the Navy F5Ns do have nav systems built into them now so it really would not be cheating to reference dots on the kneeboard. Using those are just not for me. I made a few maps I keep on my iPad to reference like a real kneeboard. Here is a big picture from one of the VFC-111 F5Ns pits of the nav system:
  16. You made my morning! You are very welcome.
  17. Just give me a few ground personnel I can place around the airbase an I would be happy. :) Maybe be able to set triggers to their animations in the mission editor. Even just a simple raise their hand ....getting carried away here.
  18. Hi maybe this will get you started. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=175448
  19. I agree and have thought a lot about this too. ED's passion for flight really shows in their wonderful product and hard work. The silent majority is speaking out. BIG Thanks Eagle Dynamics!!
  20. So hocician made a great skin of the so called "PAK" skin and eluded he thought it was no longer used. It is used here are a few shots of it from today: And from Tuesday:
  21. Yea works great. Big thanks and impressive response. Had a great flight this evening!
  22. Just an FYI, but no big deal to me since I only fly NTTR right now; I just updated my install from 1.2 to 1.5 latest and I also do not have the F-5 module option in 1.5. Not in the installed or option to install. The home screen (where you can set your wallpaper) shows I need to buy it. The F-5 works in 2.0 but in the module manager there is an empty spot where you would add your serial number. But I can still fly it. It is bound to my account and active....for 2.0 Checked my virus software (eset) nothing quarantined or blocked there. An FYI - I did recently move my install to an SSD with the drag drop method and I updated my registry and everything seems read/launch fine no problems getting things to start or update. (eh maybe something?): - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Thank you Mr. Newy!! Just letting you guys know. autoupdate_log.txt
  23. You can go to your start menu and open >>Eagle Dynamic then >>DCS World and there is an update icon to click on. I opened the folder I have 1.5 installed on, the opened the bin folder and clicked on update. Just because I recently moved my install and Start menu around. And thanks guys for letting me know about 2.0.
