Wissam24 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi guys. Quick question, what sources other than aircraft manuals are you using to replicate aircraft handling? I ask because I'm currently reading Eric Brown's autobiography and he mentions stuff like the Me-262's engines being prone to flameouts if the throttle is moved too fast and other notable effects that you might not necessarily get from manuals. Cheers
Cobra847 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 biographies, memoirs, technical documentation (related to other specific components, in your example for example the manual for the JUMO engine), opposing side test reports (Allied mainly), engine manuals. There is obviously more, but most of it is actually covered by flight manuals/pilots' handbooks, and if not-- the maintenance manuals/handbooks. Cheers yes, its one of the most exciting things about the 262, finding all the troubles that are associated with this new tech from the 40's... I hope that its a complete beast to learn and fly.
