Hello wink.gif I'm new but from this forum learn a lot and need your help & advice.

CPU: I7-4770 (4.5Mhz overclocked)

Mobo: G1 Sniper 5

Ram: 16GB 2400Mhz S.Kill Sniper edition

Video: ASUS GTX780 x2 SLI

All PC custom waterloop (http://www.dazmode.com/_forum/showthread.php?939-LVNona-First-build)

Drives: SSD 120 + SSD 256 + HDD 1TB

Windows 7 x64 ultimate

Saitek X52 Pro

Pro pedals

I used to play only on one 27'' monitor and get average 120fps

Now I want to try multimonitor setup.

Monitors: Dell 17 1024x1280 (portrait) + Overlord 27'' 2560x1440 120hz (landscape) + Dell 17'' 1024x1280 (portrait)

I connect all monitors to only one GPU: DVI + DVI + HDMI

Another card is connect as SLI (NVIDIA control panel)

Windows and NVIDIA wont start Surround (i expect that)

But when I start my DCS World (LockOn) I see available resolution 4608 x 1440

Started - games run ok and frames around 45-55fps. But now my bezels and screens are in bad position.

Using SoftTH207alpha_x64

I upload d3d9.dll and config file to DCS World/bin and configure all monitors and bezel distances:

All screens setup at 75hz at windows.

My config file:

[main]

renderResolution=4968x1440

nonlocalFormat=RGB16D

keepComposition=0

smoothing=1

debugD3D=0

zClear=0

vsync=0

And now when I start the game I see actual SoftTH enabled because logos comes up at side screens and bezel and screens look ok. But the problem my FPS is dramatically low - 14fps.

What do i do wrong?

Do i need to disable SLI and connect side screens to another monitor?

For my $4000 PC to get from top video card and highest performance pc only 14fps sounds disappointing wink.gif

Please help,

Thanks, Norm

try window mode and full screen mode?

I'll try.

But I read somewhere - SLI doesn't work at window mode.

Is my multi monitor connection look good? Or should I split and connect to both cards?

try window mode and full screen mode?

ok, something strange ;)

at FULLSCREEN all screens shows up ok, but FPS average 18fps

Windows mode - fps goes up both sidescreens shows the same picture - so I have 2 right monitor pictures showing also at the left as well.

Any idea?

Hi LVNona

Try disabling Areos in game option menu .

Thanks, I'll try it.

What Aeros is exactly doing?

I get some progression:

-disable SLI

-move side monitors to second card

and now I'm getting close to 35fps average (highest graphic settings)

If I disable some shadows, medium settings and .... I'll get around 41fps.

Is there any other way I can improve?

Thanks

Had a similar kind of issue you're having, for a loooooooong time in fact - but Im at the office and cant remember exactly what I did to fix it.

Tried a lot of different things, and did find the problem... but I can nearly promise you that the fps you're getting is not what your system should deliver - as we've both got similar set ups.

First off; is there a particular reason why you don't expect Nvidia surround and SLI to be enabled? Different sized monitors perhaps? I only ask as mine is set up for surround and SLI - and I never found the need to disable - the problem was with DCS and the way it was trying to treat my monitors, not because of my current GPU configuration.

I also remember I had a huge difference in performance between full screen and windowed mode at the aspect ratio I was being defaulted at, for the resolution I wanted - 5760x1200 will automatically default you to a "4.8" aspect ratio, which seemed to give me trouble in fullscreen mode.

Are you simply trying to give yourself a wide view across all three monitors? Or are you trying to use the 2nd or 3rd monitors for MFCDs/other viewports?

If you're trying to set up MFCD etc etc - may want to look into some of the guides out there

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/214771/

Disabling Aero just turns off some of Window's GUI effects - but you should not have to worry about that. I'll have to double check my settings when I get back because with your setup, unless you've got some underlying problem, you should be getting what I'm getting - which for me, is close to blowing the doors off performance wise

My config:

Windows 8 64 bit

ASUS ROG Maximus V Extreme w/Intel 3770k @ 4.5

2 Gigabyte GTX780s GHz Edition

16gb RAM 2400mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum

Running off a Samsung 840 SSD

3 24" ASUS IPS panels with at 5760x1200

Track IR/Warthog HOTAS/STK Pro Pedals blah blah I don't think the rest of my specs are going to matter too much -

I get there could be OTHER issues - but assuming you have a healthy OS and normal DCS install? Your rig should be handling DCS just fine - You've got the horsepower - but DCS can be a challenge, simply getting it to run across three screens - one wrong setting, and you'd wonder if you'd got 560's instead of 780s.

And for me personally, it had nothing to do with bottlenecks, on MY end - it simply was about the wrong aspect ratio/monitor setting/ or the way DCS treated my overall screen space - once you find it, you shouldn't be anywhere below 55fps.

I'll check what I had found once I get out of the office see if I can replicate my own issue (just hope I can fix it again :D)

Hei thanks buddy ;)

I would like to see your SoftTH, options & monitor.lua settings.

My idea is to extend angel view - make it liitle bit more realistic ;)

Bad DCS dont have proper soft for setup everything at one place and you all the time need to jump from one place to another and so on ....
