KaspeR32 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Hi everyone, I just wanted to know whether most people with TM Warthog used the TARGET programming software, or they use DCS: World to configure their joystick profiles. I've currently just been using DCS: World, especially because they added the ability to manage your control settings from within a mission now. Is there any advantages for using the TARGET software over in game profiles? Sarge55 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I program mine in DCS options. However, I do use TARGET in other sims like Falcon BMS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
cichlidfan Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) I use Target with all of my flight sims. For one thing, when I first rotated my stick mount, it was a necessity (before I got an extension that could have handled the rotation without rotating the base). Now that I have a 'library' of Target scripts and am comfortable with it, I can set up a new aircraft quite quickly. The real advantages of Target lies in when you want to do something out of the ordinary, like having a button short press center TIR while a long press pauses it or alter the function of a button press based on the position of two switches. Another nice thing is the ability to switch axis curve presets on-the-fly. If you dig into it, the scripting language will do a lot. The manual is not the best, and it does contain some small errors though.
