My setup:

Windows 8.1 Pro

Using the Xonar DG sound card, with the Uni Xonar 1.72 drivers. The MB (via bios settings) sound is disabled.

Sound output works great for the 5.1 to my A/V receiver, via the SPDIF.

Sound output works great when I select headphone, to my Sennheiser's

My problem, the headset microphone doesn't appear to work. I have both the green & pink analog lines from the head phone plugged into the Xonar card's input's in the back.

Anyone have a similar config? Win8.1, Uni Xonar, Xonar DG, and headphones, and able to have your headset Microphone work?

Rats, really want to go online and fly around MP with some folks. Can't do that without my Mic. :(

ps. I've also tried going into the Xonar audio center, mixer, MIC, advance setting, and clicking on front Mic and Microphone... No joy...

must be my Sennheiser PC151 headset's microphone.

I plugged the headset into my "old" rig, which is running Win 7, and the same Xonar DG sound card and driver. No joy...

So I stumbled across the microphone that came with my A/V receiver, which is used to calibrate the speakers. Plugged it into my Win8.1 rig, (with the Xonar DG), and low and behold, the microphone is showing input...

A quick scan of the 'Net show's some folks having issues with the Sennheiser PC151 mic cr*pping out. I took the left ear cup off, and both of the wires look like they're soldered in just fine.

Any rate, I'm gonna look for a new headset, so it seems....

I've been wanting a Xonar DX and was wondering how do you like the Xonar compared to onboard?

Hey now, thanks for the link! I'll check it out.

I do like the Xonar, much better than the onboard. I'm also using the Uni drivers. My Xonar is connected up to a 5.1 A/V receiver, and DCS just sounds great!

My Sennheiser PC151 headset's microphone crapped out a while back.

Would appreciate any feedback on this new version.

TIA,

I have v3 of this mike and its really good.

I have it on my Senheisser HD650's, works like a charm.

I have an Xonar Essence STX card, but am having some issues with that and DCS.

The sound cuts out on my headset from low idle through to taxi, its like a dead spot which is really off putting.

I have no idea why, it works fine for everything else.
