craig_sez Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) windows 7...brand new cougar and its actually about 6-7 yrs old....I never used it more than 5 minutes cause it pissed me the heck off tryin to get it to work.... I dont understand the lingo mostly used re pc lingo so i get frustrated all to hell and wanna biff this thing out the window.... Is there files and a simple click click click way for this to atleast get started,im not pc savy and im about to crush it under the tracks of a bull dozer or its gonna work... Im just not overly patient with this, tried 6-7 yrs ago and met with same issues..Thats why its 6-7 yrs old but new...Seems to me that the cougar site is all over the place with getting this to work...So mant files online that seem to chage which files to load and do this but not that, hook it up and unhook it... Im loosin my damn mind and gonna trash it if it dont work soon..:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: and it keeps telling me i got a 203 or 302 dll missing..dont remember which. help Edited March 10, 2014 by craig_sez The "SCALES" of aeronautical performance will weigh heavily on your next move..

Zeke Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 http://www.cubpilotshangar.net/page105.html Not sure why your stick isn't working, but this site may help.
craig_sez Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 Tks zeke but after un plugging and clearing firmware and reloading it and so on and so on it worked...For some odd reason i saw it listed as working ok in the pc and it showed as there and so on...I just took a brush to the usb on the stick and changed around a few usb ports and BAM!!... STRESS GONE...What a friggin time to not be able to walk away for a few min with a cold beer...Back on the road(18 wheeler) in the morn.. Now comes the hard stuff, programming each button...Unless someone knows someone with a cougar/a-10 file i could just save in pc and load up... Oh and yes tks for the site but i already found it and it helped me big time....Im just a lil new born puppy in the woods with most of this..Nothin like it was 5-10 yrs ago... Cali Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Glad you got it working, they can be frustrating. I've had 5-6 cougars before my current one that lasted about 2 weeks then either got sold or returned to the store. My current one works great. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

Try mine. ;) Btw, can anyone tell me where I can make those nice little overviews how my joystick is mapped? I am too stupid to use even MSpaint.^^my cougar.zip Edited March 11, 2014 by Jester Darrak
slowhand Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I think the Foxy Software will help with the overview that you are going for. I would just setup all the keys and axes up in the game, this way you can test as you go.Also you may need to clear a few other things in the control options as the sim detects everything that is pluged in to your computer. hope that helps.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] SMOKE'M:smoke: IF YA GOT'M!:gun_rifle: H2o Cooler I7 9700k GA 390x MB Win 10 pro Evga RTX 2070 8Gig DD5 32 Gig Corsair Vengence, 2T SSD. Jester Darrak Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 My Cougar works perfectly besides some age-related axis-wobbling. I'm just looking for an easy way to show other people how my setup works.
Home Fries Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Check the Cougar profile in my signature, though you'll also want the MFDs as well for full functionality. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Irregular programming Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I have a cougar modded with FSSB and it's basically the most perfect joystick you can get. The only problem I have is that there isn't enough resistance in the throttle.

FSSB or a FCC3 are good mods for Cougar but limited to certain aircraft's. (Based on my own experience and on experience's from other forum members) /Arthur
