Gman3rd Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I use a HOTAS Cougar and am having issues with a spiking throttle. I have replaced the throttle pot 3 times and still have the issue. Can anyone shed any light on this and how to fix it? Gman
ShuRugal Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 if the pot has been replaced, it is probably something else in the board of the cougar gone bad. You might try a firmware update (if TM has any for the cougar, that is). also try different USB slots just to see if that effects anything (windows is strange with USB game controllers sometimes)
Diemos Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 It might also be the USB hub, assuming you are using such... I recently replaced a hub I was using and, even though I didn't previously have any noticeable "spikes," my overall control IS noticeably smoother.
Cali Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I have my Cougar connected to a powered HUB with no problems. Sounds like something else is going on with yours. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
