Devil 505 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) Members of the board and avid readers, I am not sure if anybody has posted an article on this yet but I figured I would try to be the first. I can imagine the hard work that goes into collecting data on all the aircraft that are in current production and the lack of material that might be hard to find on particular U.S. aircraft. I have grown up in the aviation industry here in the U.S. and would like to extend a lending hand to any developer that might need help collecting photos of aircraft including cockpits, exteriors and any up close and personal details of the aircraft. I have a minor in photography, and do not mean to boast, but take great photos that might help with reproducing our growing fleet of aircraft. I might also be able to swing getting sound clips from the real aircraft. Here in Texas we have several outstanding museums with an abundance of aircraft ranging from WW2 to modern. Attached below will be a list of museums I have attended and or worked for. I am sure that the owners would be kind enough to lend us data on specific aircraft to help aid in the production of any upcoming third party or ED aircraft. If you browse through their websites you can see a list of all the aircraft they own and what is static and what is currently in flying condition. I would highly recommend to any other members of the board or readers, if you have access to any museums or aviation companies that could provide thorough and accurate data and details of aircraft, lend a hand to the developers. I know from experience that there are some real beautiful aircraft hiding out and tucked away in small corners all around the world that no body knows about. I once was driving through the back country here in Texas and to my amazement saw an authentic and original BF-109 sitting in the back property of this old mans house. I can tell you I nearly s_it myself. Keep in mind that our developers are working hard even though some promises have not yet been filled. They want to reproduce the best for us and I think if we can help them in any way possible we should try. Please post anything you have that might help them on this post and leave the complaining and negative comments out of it. We are all virtual pilots and we need to respect one another. I look forward to hearing from other avid simers bringing something to the table for our developers. These are the websites I was referring to and I will post some photos of mine later on today to show some of the aircraft I have been on or around. http://www.cavanaughflightmuseum.com/ http://www.vintageflyingmuseum.org/ http://www.lsfm.org/ http://www.texasflyinglegends.org/ http://www.thetexasairmuseum.org/ Edited March 17, 2014 by robert.clark251 1
GGTharos Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'll pass it on higher up. No promises obviously. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
ED Team NineLine Posted March 17, 2014 ED Team Posted March 17, 2014 If you want to show good examples of your work, look at some of the aircraft being worked on and share cockpit/interior shots related to them. I am sure good cockpit/interior shots of, especially, the older WWII aircraft are always welcome... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Devil 505 Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Will do. I will start looking into the aircraft that are currently in progress and see what I can do as far as getting detailed shots. I will post them on the board here. I will also see about any documentation that I might be able to dig up. Thanks for the response guys. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into the modules and think your sims are hands down the best out there. Regards Robert
