Downloaded DCS World. Planned on A10C only, but maybe FC3.

With this big sale today what do you all recommend I get?

Some stuff is already reduced a lot from the base price anyway and is a small savings while the new stuff and A10c are a bigger savings.

A10C

Mag8

Blackshark2

are big savings along with Combined Arms.

But if something is not fun and not used much then it is just money spent for little use.

Recommendations?

What is used the least and what is used often and fun?

A-10C: Destroyer of worlds

UH-1H: Gunship of doom, infantry quiver at thy name, but AAA will shred you.

P-51D: What Microsoft Flight should have been. This is true flying.

Ka-50: Eats tanks for dinner, but you will yell at the trimmer all day.

FC3: LOMAC to the future!

CA: When you just want to mess around.

Mi-8: The Russian Huey, without the doom part. (I have not tried it yet)

Ka is must buy! Flaming cliffs is kinda nice but I don't really enjoy it that much, some people do, but I just can't when I know something better is coming. :p but imo CA is least useful and on current stage it gets old really soon. Sure there is improvements coming but why not wait those and then buy it from the sale. But Im just playing dcs for study sim experience so some people enjoy different things.

A reminder about CA: The main function of CA is to use it kind of like an RTS and manage units on the battlefield. It is essentially the commander module. Once 1.2.8 comes out, you will be able to give orders to land, air, and sea units. I feel like being able to drive the ground vehicles is just sort of a bonus feature (though I'm sure a bunch of work went into that too).

A DCS: Armor study sim has been announced though, so if that's really what you want, just wait for that.

I really enjoy all the modules except for the Mi-8. You won't go wrong with any of them though.

Yeah, it was in the official news letter, which was copied in the discussion thread:

In additional to our traditional focus on aircraft, we are also gradually expanding and improving the ground combat component of DCS World [including] work towards our first DCS level armor vehicle simulation.
