Eburitus Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) If I would connect 3 fullHD displays to my ATI-280x GPU with 3GB ram, would I get efficient set up? What would be approximate FPS? ps. Sorry for typos in topic. Edited March 29, 2014 by Eburitus HEY! EVERYONE SCATTER! HES FLYING AGAIN!:pilotfly:
Retsilf Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 If I compare with my setup (7970, 2x full hd displays), I would say you will not get more than 30fps - dependent on your settings.
Eburitus Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 So to get at least nice fps to center and maybe laggish sides, I would need another GPU for side views? HEY! EVERYONE SCATTER! HES FLYING AGAIN!:pilotfly:
Retsilf Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 You already have the 280? Otherwise I would recommend to look at the 290X. A second GPU is not necessarily the better solution + it is much more expensive. However, stay at least with AMD in case of a multi monitor setup
BHawthorne Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 3 displays you can go either Nvidia or AMD. If you want to do something exotic you need to go AMD though. AMD is much more flexible with display spans. 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 5x1, 2x2, 3x2 are all options with AMD. If you want to stick to the 3 display span standard either brand will do fine though. At issue is sims are very resource hungry so go with the best single GPU you can afford.
