Hi all, I've been using VAC for some time ow and it's never really been able to recognise my voice correctly. It just blurts out random stuff. Every now and then it get it correctly but mostly it just spouts garbage. If I say '2 engage ground targets at my SPi with guns from the east' I get a repeat message 'RTB' or some other rubbish. It's the same in VAC builder as well as in game. I've done the speech recognition tests many times, I speak as clearly as possible and slowly and I don't have a particularly strong accent - northern elnglosh but nothing seems to work. It did seem to work a bit better when I first bought it - about 2 years ago but it's pretty crappy now. Any ideas how to get it to work more reliably.

try to speak solitary country/city names for actions. pick short ones like 'germany', 'rome', not ones like 'bengazi', 'iraq', 'constantinople', 'jericho'.

you may also speak the word in mind and see what is recognized, then use that word instead. Its enslaving all of us I know but better than F1 typing for radio commands. Check out Fish's video on his channel for his setup. He's Irish, and offers good advice on words choice.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

A really good microphone is also needed and no background noise like TV or other people. Try and use the windows sound recorder or other recording software to really see what it records when you speak normal. Then adjust recording volume until it is in balance with your speech. VAC can as mentioned record your spoken command for the one you try to create.
