So just curious on the veteran pilots for DCS, I was flying my F15 using the X52 Pro stick, I locked on to a aircraft with my AIM9 fired and took out the wing, first kill ever in game, issue and this kept happening when I did similar kills, I would be at their 6 when I fired about 0.5 NM out and I would go in to a uncontrollable flat spin out of no where after the AIM would hit, why does this keep happening? Am I too close?

I don't have any experience with the F-15 yet, but some good general advice with DCS is, "Track or it didn't happen." The next time it happens, save the replay and attach it to your post. That makes it much easier for people to help. They should get saved to: C:\Users\UserName\Saved Games\DCS\Tracks

Even if you forget to save it, you can still find the most recent flight saved there, so you can copy and rename that.

Also, since this is about the F-15, it should probably go in this section: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=321 Try to make your thread title more descriptive in the future too.

Sorry about posting in the wrong area. I will also get videos next time, new to the community so I apologize greatly, trying to figure out where all the topics are at. I will check my bindings. Thanks everyone.

It's not quite clear for me, let me describe my understanding on what happens: you get on his six, fire a Mike and after you blew him up you go into a flatspin. Correct? 0.5 nm is so-so, not too close but at that point it's usually better to go guns unless it's a really fast tailchase situation.

Meh, guns are entirely situation dependent at that range. If he has the missile, there is no reason not to use it though. When you are that close, there are places guns can go and missiles can't. Yes, but at his dead six, it's a no brainer. Fox 2, watch the fireworks, and get out of there. Just make sure that you don't get fragged by any stray falling aircraft pieces. If his dead aircraft is hitting you, this could be the issue.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

But what the hell is that guy doing if he's 0.5nm in front of you and he's still flying straight? Unless you're flying near supersonic you can effectively use the gun at 0.5 just fine given the fact you know how to aim. Besides that, if you're still 0.5nm behind him I don't think there's any way his wreck is gonna bang you. Not in the game, anyway.
