Justin Case Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 It could be tilted that way to align the indicators to the left, that way it's easier to spot a "red" value when it's pointing towards say 6 o'clock. http://www.masterarms.se A Swedish Combat Flight Simulator Community.
Kaiza Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) It could be tilted that way to align the indicators to the left, that way it's easier to spot a "red" value when it's pointing towards say 6 o'clock. This Loosening gauges and turning them around like that is something often done in RL. You just loosen the little black screw and the whole gauge rotates in the instrument panel. The reason is that this way all the gauge needles line up in the same direction. The pilot can quickly scan the engine instruments and see everything is OK by the fact the needles are all aligned. It is much more obvious if something is wrong at a glance when one needle doesn't match the others. This ^ ... well, almost. :o) It is canted so that the normal position of all related gauges point to the same direction (compare TRANS OIL) so that the pilot can instantly notice if anything is off.
msalama Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 This is a real-life UH-1H cockpit. Observe how the gauge is mounted: http://www.airliners.net/photo/0236710/L/ The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Hypnos Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ... in this gauge there is a mistake... red line in real helicopter and in Belsimtek manual is 25 psi, in the sim 20 psi :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
