marluk Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) What does this mean? Are all of the features implemented? Should we celebrate? :pilotfly: Edited April 11, 2014 by marluk [B]*NOB* Lucky[/B] [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Tko vrijedi leti, tko leti vrijedi, tko ne leti ne vrijedi
Flagrum Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 What does this mean? Are all of the features implemented? The Huey was already out of beta with the release of 1.2.7. It got only accidentally labled "beta" again with 1.2.8 beta.
marluk Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 I have thought that it can not go out of the Beta without slingload. All right. My mistake. [B]*NOB* Lucky[/B] [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Tko vrijedi leti, tko leti vrijedi, tko ne leti ne vrijedi
sorcer3r Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Engine systems should be fixed first before it is out of beta ;) [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]

Flagrum Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) Beta, or not, has nothing to do with completeness. I agree ... and disagree. "Back in the days" the label "beta" meant a version that was tested internally and found to be stable and ready to be released. But according to Murphys Law still some bugs could be present - so that version was to be tested by the end users. The keyword here is "ready to be released" and also means that it is "feature complete". But that definition changed over time, it seems, and nowadays it is just a label - or perhaps better: an excuse for "early access" or "early release". And this is at least what BST did with the Huey and the Hip: they released them while being unfinished. Not that I blame BST for doing so or that I am disappointed that they did so (not at all! The Huey at least was quite close to the old definition of "beta" anyways!), it is just the way all publishers today act. Edited April 11, 2014 by Flagrum
cichlidfan Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I agree ... and disagree. I was speaking strictly with respect to ED (Belsimtek). I, also, am not criticizing the work but the use of the term 'beta' has lost most of its meaning, IMHO.
