Forum email visibility

To whom my e-mail address will be visible if I select:

forum options > Messaging & Notification > Receive Email from Other Members

?

 

1. everyone

2. all forum members

3. no one, the forum uses a special form not disclosing recipient email address

 

I'd like to get rid of the built-in forum 'Private messages'.

Pass as when I look on your profile and even on your contact details theres nothing about emailing you just private messaging and guest post on your wall.

 

I would guess no but maybe someone else might be able to shed some light.

Based on some quick tests, the answer is going to be 2a 'All Forum Members who are logged in'

 

EDIT: FYI, the contact info tab, for any member, is not viewable unless you are logged in.

Thanks. So a no-go for me, unless I do the following:

- create an email alias in the ES*

- register the alias for ED forums and DCS instead of my current registration e-mail

 

*email service I use for my current registration e-mail

 

Still, an official word on this would be nice. A quick improvised wishlist:

- a forum form for sending an email that doesn't disclose recipient's email address

OR

- an option to specify a separate email address to be exposed to forum members (other than the registration email)

That's because I haven't enabled the option yet.

Actually, further investigation reveals that your Privacy Settings controls who can see your contact info (and other areas). These setting can be limited or open even to non-members.

I know but neither provides possibility of contacting me by all forum members without exposing my email to all forum members. I'll go with the alias option I mentioned earlier.
