Hello,

I would like to start to improve my simulator buying some new stuff, I usually play the F-15c in fc2, now I started playing with Black Shark 2 with my old thrustmaster; I would like to receive some advice about what joystick, rudder and other stuff to buy to improve my experience.

Thank you !

any HOTAS you are comfortable with will serve you well for the Black Shark, the important thing is that you like the way the stick operates.

I, personally, love my X52-Pro. I know that many people complain about not having a hard 'center' due to the ball-joint-style centering plate, but I love it for the same feature. In a helicopter, the concept of "center" is largely irrelevant. 'center' is wherever the stick needs to be to produce the appropriate cyclic forces for the desired mode of flight, and having a hard center which is fixed (and therefore never in the same spot relative to the current flight conditions) is bad news.

I can't make any recommendation for one pedal over another, other than to suggest you read up reviews and find out which pedals have the features you want in the price range you want.

If you don't already own it, Track IR is a must, it will take your sim experience to a level you never knew existed, and you'll forget how you could ever fly without it.

If you do not have track IR then this is a must!

In a helicopter you will fly in every direction naturaly and easily with trackir.

CH proflight rudders are cheap and good.

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

Depending on the ammount of money you want to spend, the MFG Crosswinds are also worth a look. They are expensive but they are probably one of the best peddals out there.

I would say avoid the Thrustmaster Hotas X. It looks like a well featured stick for not much money but it's got a large deadzone and sticks around the middle, making it not sensitive enough for controlling helos and causing oversteering and jerking.

Probably the X55 will be the best for helos, as the spring can be removed, making it very loose and easy to make small adjustments.

I bought the Saitek flight pedals and am happy with them. They'll be even better once I remove the center detent, which is quite easy to do.
