Vampyr Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I just made the move from keyboard to flight stick, so I'm going over basic maneuvers plus take offs and landings. During my most recent landing attempt, I spun out near the end of the runway because I steered too much. The plane wasn't damaged, so I turned around and tried to take off again. All of a sudden the plane began to shake badly from side to side when rolling at low speeds. This made it pretty hard for me to taxi back to take off position. I looked outside and it seemed that 1/4th of the rear wheels were buried into the tarmac. Not sure what to make of this. Was this just some sort of glitch or did I actually blow out the tires when I spun out on the runway? I know that ED made some pretty big changes to this part of the simulation since the plane is no longer "glued" to the runway as it was in the previous versions.
docfu Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I blow tires all the time in the SU-25T. I was wondering if it was broken because I actually landed without blowing them last night...
diegoepoimaria01 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Yep, they blow pretty easy now. The A-10A can even do a spin ( like a 180°) on the wet tarmac ( it happens to me once or twice ). You have to be very very careful during taxi, and take your time. Usually the 15/30 seconds you might save isn't worth the risk of blowing a tire for spinning or going off the runway.
Irregular programming Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Land better. :P Seriously though, the tires will blow if you land too hard and the only way around it is to make sure that they stay intact is to be a little more careful during landings. I blew mine a couple of times landing the f15 but now I never do it no matter how awful my approach is.
