Winfield_Gold Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) You can put it wherever you want but you have to look in the thread mentioned above to see where X 0, Z 0 is located. You can then use the measuring tool to measure the EW distance and NS distance (keeping in mind I think you have to convert it to meters... which seems a bit ridiculous but I think that's how it works. You then measure the distance you want up and over from the 0 point mentioned in the other thread. Keeping in mind however that you'll need to place the cyclone in the vicinity so the weather can "react" around it. If you look at THIS GUIDE and scroll down to where it shows how to modify the lua file, look for centerZ and centerX. It looks like those numbers determine the location. Thank you for your help guys, i'll read the link Blooze posted and have a go. EDIT: Works as described, Best s**t storm I have ever created, much more of a challenge for the choppers. EDIT EDIT: If you crank it up to -500 so the outer cyclone is over the base, you get a message that says "runway is closed please wait" -1000 and you can barely taxi. If you start at turning point, you can VTOL the A-10C onto the parking lot. I found it best to only use 1 engine for complete stupidity and counteract the sideways action, add -30 degrees of flaps to climb on the spot, -15 to slowly sink down into the parking lot. Not really what dynamic weather is designed but hey spare a thought for the devs working on VTOL aircraft, Just code in a -1000 pressure system when you lower the nozzles and your good to go. Might make it easier on the coding if you can work dynamic weather into the VTOL scripts :) Edited June 16, 2014 by Winfield_Gold
Blooze Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Last night my group ran a favorite mission called FOB Vetka with one of the weather systems. Clouds moved in while cranking up the hogs and a light shower fell while we taxied. After takeoff we flew east away from the rain and proceeded to the AO. While on station big puffy clouds moved in and made the low level target markers a real challenge to see but it really enhanced the immersion factor. I didn't notice any performance hits and I think that these days most folks probably have the hardware to handle dynamic weather just fine. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ENO Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 I ran dynamic on a mission last night and it seemed to go down well. No complaints on performance and the feedback was encouraging. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
