Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I use the Thrustmaster Hotas X and tried to set the Axis for Thottle and Stick. When I set it in the settings the Axis are recognized, but in cockpit is no movement. At this time i have spent more time with messing around for settings than flying, this is very frustrating  I appreciate any help, Thank you i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Flagrum Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Are you sure that you configured them for the correct aircraft? There is a pull down menu at the top where you can select the right (so called) "Layer".
Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Jope, I have crosschecked it now, it is the layer for the A 10C REAL.... unfortunately i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Flagrum Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Jope, I have crosschecked it now, it is the layer for the A 10C REAL.... unfortunately "unfortunately"? Is the problem now solved or do you still have difficulties?
Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Still impossible to set it. I meant unfortunately because I hoped that I just have selected the wrong layer, but since it is the right thing I'm out of ideas whats wrong. Flagrum Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 What happens if you pause the game with ESC while in cockpit and go to the controller assignments from there?
Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Thats the way I have tried it, but I have tried it also from the main menu. By the way, Thank you for your help to examine it :-) Have this plane something like a steer lock or "gust lock" or something? Maybe I have overseen it i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Flagrum Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 No, the stick is always movable, even when the aircraft is powered down. Btw, do you start the plane from cold & dark yourself ... or is there a difference if you do it yourself or if you start from runway? And, do at least the keyboard shortcuts work (cursor keys)?
Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) One Problem is solved, now i can use my Throttles, I have found the answer in the FAQ, I qote here for others: "Q: I can't start the engines / move the throttle: A: When in Rampstart, the throttles are fixed in OFF position. In real life you have to lift a single throttle up and move it forward in idle position to start the corresponding engine. You can also start the left engine by pressing Right ALT + HOME and right engine by pressing Right CTRL + HOME. In game, unless you own a TM Warthog, you have to start the engine with keyboard-commands. Once this key-combination has moved the throttle from OFF position, it will work normally. If you start on the runway or in the air, the engines are already running. As a logical consequence, you can move the throttles with your throttle immediately." But I still cant use the stick, at the moment I trie again to set the Axis... The cursor key are working. I start from Cold and Dark, tried it in a mission and in the Tutorial Mission. Now I will trie a mission where engines running... Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Stick dont work in a mission where engines are running, arrow keys work and throttle are working too i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020
Rhinozherous Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 All clear now :pilotfly: I have set all the Axis again, first I could move the stick only forward and backward, but after starting one engine and with pressure in the Hyd system I could move it also left and right! The causing thing with the throttles is clear to me, the suddenly working stick is a riddle for me, but i am happy :) Thank you very much! i7-14700KF 5.6GHz Water Cooled /// ZOTAC RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB /// 32GB RAM DDR5 /// Win11 /// SSDs only DCS - XP12 - MSFS2020

limbo696 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 For most people, you have to hit the engine start up keys (left-alt Home and left-ctrl Home) first for the left and right throttles to become responsive. Otherwise, they register no movement when you move your physical throttle/slider.
