Gun sounds mod

So I was trying to make my own sound mod based on one of diveplanes. I edited some waves and named that to replace the ones in game but it isn't working. What do i need to do.

Do you hear nothing or the vanilla effect? Are you sure you saved / exported them as the same file type? Is everything in the correct folder ans does the effect have the correct volume? There is not too much that can go wrong.

I was able to export the gun sounds of other games and put them into DCS really easily for personal use. Just use Audacity and make sure the volume level (+/- db) is correct. Obviously don't distribute them but that goes without saying.
