Singleplayer Campaign

Is DCS WWII going to have an immersive and historically-based singleplayer campaign, similar to IL2?

 

I am primarily a singleplayer player and I found the "campaign" for P-51D very lacking.

I don't think so, unfortunately...

 

However, the community has come up with some amazing missions that are dynamic and can have randomized elements in them.

 

I'm thinking of Ranger79's AMAZING A-10C missions.

 

This proves that any motivated modder or mission-maker could, given enough time, come up with a very decent campaign. And, with the mission editor, we can even make these missions COOP missions. You just need to add a couple of clients and voila.

I hope to one day see the level of the IL2's community content brought over to DCS fidelity. Hopefully, the DCS WW2's Normandy map and WWII assets will motivate some talented people to make some very great campaigns.

once the normandy map with WW2 period ground units is out, i 'm sure we will see a lot of similar campaigns. We 'll just have to wait another year...fingers crossed

One of the best things about DCS is that the mission generator is not too hard to learn, and yet it remains a very powerful tool. I am confident that we will see user made campaigns once we have the Normandy map.

I want a single player campaign too. For each plane, of course - I will not buy any module without a proper campaign. So no Sabre, no Dora for me.
