Belphe Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I'm trying to max my graphics settings in DCS: World (flying mainly the Dora) but discovered that some areas eat my FPS with no apparent reason. I can run "Instant Action Cold Start" mission for the Dora and get fluid FPS unless I look in a specific direction. After I do, I get roughly 4 FPS. Same goes to "Instant Action Dogfight" (Dora again). Looking in one of the directions causes a drastic frame rate drop. Now, I don't think it is a problem with DCS but I'd still like to max all graphical settings to enjoy flying the most. I'd like you to have a look at my specs and tell me what seems to be causing the above mentioned issues. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit AMD 6-core Phenom II @3.21GHz (1090T) 16GB Corsair RAM @1.33GHz AMD XFX 2GB Radeon HD7850 Corsair HDD @7200rpm Until I get my hardware upgraded please, tell me what do the following settings change: Scenes - what will be simplified after lowering this setting (terrain mesh?)? Visib Range - will 3D objects be popping up in front of me from nowhere after I lower this? Does the ground texture resolution get lowered? I already set my Water to Low... Thanks! Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AtaliaA1 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Get an NVidea Graphics card. U might not need to update other devices they are newer than my PC and I run on High Graphics settings for all. As for ur Questions. U need to set the Sim. to those settings and see for ur self how ur card renders those images. Edited August 11, 2014 by AtaliaA1 ur Questions. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig.
