Seems my Saitek PCdash2 is dying.

Some of the buttons are alway active what renders the whole device useless, because those active buttons override other key presses.

As I found used PCdash2's on Ebay almost expensive as new ones at that time of the release, I think it's stupid to buy one of those old ones, as I'm not aware of the condition.

Are there other devices as an alternative to the PCdash2 where I could bind my key combinations and functions to?

Any recommendation appreciated as general input. Price is a factor.

Don't know if t's possible to unsolder and replace the microbuttons from the board. However I don't have the knowledge and tools and guess let a professional doing, it would be as expensive as a new device.

Can't believe that in 20 years only one manufacturer has brought up a device like PCDash and let it run out of production without presenting a follow up.

Think you could open it up and show us what's inside?

That's what I was looking for. Thanks!

The Expertkeys keyboard looks nice. Quite expensive as you said. :(

Well at least some devices to lay monay byside for. Well, after the purchase of the MiG-21 module I fear ;)

I see what you mean now. For less than 50 euros you could build your own. Seriously. It isn't that hard. Have you seen the link in my signature?

Very nice project.

I like it more plug & play. Am not the best in electric stuff, though in the video it looks easy

It is easy! If you can use a screwdriver and a drill, you can make a panel :-)

I can walk you through it if you want. You just need to decide what kind of switches you want (buttons, toggle switches or a combination of both) and then the rest is drilling holes in a box to mount the switches and using a screwdriver to connect them to a USB board.

Easy for even the most basic handyman.
