Archer7 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hey, I've had my eye on CA since I dig strategy games and so. Something I can’t quite understand is if you can dynamically jump in and out of aircraft or only the ground units though? Say, in the Georgian Hammer Combined Arms campaign (which I’ve seen because it’s actually included with the A-10C), can you start the mission as the A-10C if you own that module and play the mission as an A-10C mission then when it’s time for the ground units to move you switch over and command them and then jump straight back into the A-10C again? I’ve heard this ISN’T possible. But I also believe I saw someone start as a CA commander then jump into an A-10C but then allegedly wasn’t able to jump back out again? I'm also curious about how many campaigns and stand-alone missions are included in CA, if any?
Demon Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 CA is quite straightforward. You can tell units where to go, where to shoot, and take control of them. You can jump into most ground units (excluding multi-piece SAM launchers), and any aircraft that you own the module for. Read this manual for more information: link

VincentLaw Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 RAlt+J is the shortcut for jumping in and out of vehicles. it works on whatever vehicle you are looking at so you don't have to go to the map view to switch vehicles. It is probably my favorite key combination in DCS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

It is probably my favorite key combination in DCS. Great. If you can jump in and out of an aircraft while also commanding stuff on the ground I can see CA being a lot more fun than only watching a map and controlling ground vehicles. Can’t wait to see how the ground graphics improve with DCS 2.0.
toni Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Uhmmmmm........I know its a bit early and we could discuss this when the FA-18C thread comes alive but, any chance to include single Carrier Battle Group units into CA (combined arms ) to take control of? Quite interesting from a Carrier Ops view, and a first step towards a proper and accurate Naval development. :)
