rain06 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 During the flight sometimes my helicopter blades are collide. i am always trimming the heli for a stable flight (using T key). something like that. any solution for this problem?
Sceptre Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 When you hear a really high pitched beeping and a flashing red light, slow down! It is more common with a heavier payload, and if you are pulling Gs RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
mvsgas Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Try not to exceed 250 kph. Also, avoid using right rudder at high speed. You will find a lot of old threads on this. flashben Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 the reason the blades are colliding is because of dissymmetry of lift. When you are in forward flight or any direction with a helicopter you got blades rotating towards the path of flight and retreating from the path of flight. On 1 side of the helicopter the blade rotating into the airstream receives more lift than the blade on the other side retreating from it. And on the Kamov Ka 50 you got 2 rotor heads spinning in opposite directions which gives higher chances of the blades colliding at too high airspeeds.
mvsgas Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 you should find several videos on the rotor system online. For example, note how high the lower rotor baldes can go up here. 2RT8OVLF14k Some other examples Ikb5SBe0Me8 To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. BitMaster Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Maybe in addition one could suggest not to use too much cyclic at high speed and collective somewhere at the far end. Always lower collective to around hover point and THEN start maneuvering gently when at high speeds. You will have more effect and less chances for blade loss. In general, always do powerful maneuvers with your collective at around hover. There is way more travel for the blades to generate opposite forces on your disk so your Heli does what you intend.
