I have DCS through steam with most modules. Mig21bis will be available through DCS in 8 days but steam in 3 weeks. Can I just buy the module through DCS and install it in the steam folder ? When FW190 was released on steam I bought it through steam but it didn't unlock so I just downloaded the installer from DCS website and installed into the DCS world folder in steam folder...it worked. But I doubt it will work if I try buy Mig21 through DCS.

Am I going to have to uninstall the whole thing from steam and download all the modules again separately? I obviously would really rather not have to download the 20gig again. I suppose I could have a separate DCS world just for MIg21 but I have P51 an FW190 so if I add bf109K4 and SpitIX in a different install I wonder if that would create problems. I don't really want two installs of DCS with some module on steam and some separate.

Incase it's not clear in my country I have to pay by the gig I download so deleting and installing 20gig again is no small thing. I pay something like $30 month for about 35gig so this will spend a big chunk of my months data and DCS modules are quite expensive anyway...:noexpression:

You have 2 choices either wait til mig is released on steam or install DCSWorld you do not need to uninstall from steam if on the same computer, the dcs key for mig will not work on steam. as you already own modules they will be available to install through module manager.

the reason the fw190 worked is because the key was steams even though the download was not.

I really feel for people like you who do not have good internet or it is prohibitively expensive.

I would ask that question in the LNS forums.

The thing is, purchases made in the ED e-shop will not work in Steam as Steam will not know about the key you got (keys are not merged to Steam anymore). The other way around would work.

BUT... while this is true for ED products, I am not sure if this really also applies to 3rd party devs that sell their products via the ED e-store. It could be possible, that LNS will take care of the Steam key merge by themselfes.
