A thought about DCSW manual and docs.

Not exactly "a wish", but rather something to consider for guys responsible for DCS website layout and content - how about putting "DCS User Manual" and airport charts in the Downloads>Documentation section of the main website?

I'm quite a new DCS flyer, after installing DCSW this spring without absolutely any previous Eagle Dynamics products experience whatsoever. I knew finding my way through new GUI, mission editor etc. would not be easy, so my first logical and intuitive reaction was going to the DCS website, finding Downloads>Documents section on the left and looking for some sort of a manual or a "quickstart" document for such a novice user like me. Didn't find it though, so I downloaded A-10C GUI manual, expecting to find some useful, general info there. And I sort of did, some outdated info, but better than no info at all.

It wasn't until two months later, however, when I incidentally found out from the post somewhere on the forum, that there is a "docs" sub-folder within my main DCSW install, not to mention similar sub-folders in individual module folders (I "discovered" these another two months later, in a similar fashion). I know I'm not the only one who stumbled upon this problem, because since then I've read a couple of posts of new users, touching the same subject (for example, the recent posts in "P-51 Questions" thread).

I think that with Steam publicity plus EDGE and bunch of new modules coming, there will be more and more new flyers willing to hop in and check what this whole DCS thing is all about. DCSWorld package is an awesome "demo" for them, but, In my opinion, to make things even better, DCSW manual should be found easily in "documentation" section of the website, since this is where most of these guys will probably go and search for it. It shouldn't put any excessive traffic on the server and even if it did, maybe just writing a big fat disclaimer on top of aforementioned section (i.e. "DCSW manual and additional documentation can be found in [...]\Docs folder") would be enough.

For someone new to this series of sims, navigating through the main DCS site is pretty straightforward, but finding documentation for anything except A-10C, Ka-50 and Mustang is not.

DCS User Manuals are hard to find online but should be available in your DCS World directory if you search for ".pdf".

Indeed they should be more easily available and especially A-10A/F-15C/Su-25/Su-25T manuals that are not included with FC3 despite them containing some exclusive, useful information.

Here's a list of the different manuals for you:
