mibo Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Hi, As most of you, I alsoo have issues with the latest 2 upgrades. Both only download to 40% and then stop. Support said I should repair - than they said should install all from scratch - so I did. Then came the next (last update) which also did not download. So I made another ticket to support and asked if I could download the next future upgrade without having the last 1.2.1030996.495 Answer: "YES" My 1st. Question: If this is really possible because I recall that somewhere in this Forum it has been said that you need all previous updates. Also when I downloaded the F86F it asked me to upgrade.... Is this only for Modules?? Also I asked support if it could not be possible in a future to make upgrades shorter or divide them in 2-3 downloads and with a download manager where one can stop, pause, resume downloads. Answer: "If you stop a download you can resume later without losing what you have already". 2nd. Question: How is that possible if upgrading shows only "downloading"and a cancel button. there is no pause, stop or reassume possibility. Can someone explain it? 3rd. and last Question: Is there a message when making a REPAIR ? In my case it stops and no messages appear- so I do not know if the repair has been successful or not! Is this normal? NOTE: I ask these question to the Forum because I don't want to bother support because they have too much work and their answers are very short and incomplete. I prefer to let them the time to find solutions to all our download/upgrade problems. It seems there will be a fix very soon! Hoping to hearing from you about the 3 questions and thanking in advance. Bless you all with happy flying hours without problems:pilotfly: Mibo Edited September 26, 2014 by mibo

Download stopped but when I started again it starts all over but it completes the update. So say you have to download 80 Mb and it downloads for any reason only 40% - one can just cancel and then even when computer is shut off- one can restart the download then it shows only 48 to download as 32 have already been previously downloaded. So need only answer of other 2 questions, thanks
Flagrum Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) 1) I am not sure that I understand your question. What exactly do you mean with "did not download" and "need all previous patches"? By default, the autoupdater does whatever is necessary to get your current installation up-to-date to the latest DCS version. That means, if you have a version 1.2.5 installed, it will download and install everything what was included in 1.2.6, 1.2.7, 1.2.8, 1.2.9 and finally 1.2.10. (that also applies to the 1.2.x.yyyy subversion numbers). So if you had cancelled the update to version 1.2.10.30996 and now the autoupdater asks you if you want to update to 1.2.10.32275, then it will also apply everything what it would have done for version 1.2.10.30996 as well. So you don't have to worry if you missed or skipped a patch, the autoupdater will take care of it automatically the next time it runs. 2) Correct, a cancelled or otherwise aborted run of the autoupdater will continue at the position where it was aborted. It downloads all necessary files into the folder _downloads in your installation directory. Every time it runs, it first checks if the needed files are already in _downloads and if that is the case, it continues with the next, missing files. 3) No "success" message, that is normal. You get the small window with the progress bar and if the autoupdater is done, it simply closes down. You can check what it did when you look at the file autoupdate_log.txt in your installation directory. Edited September 28, 2014 by Flagrum
