Just go into the control options, look for "Trim up, Trim down, Trim left, Trim right" and set them to whichever control you would like to use for trim. I use the hat switch on my Thrustmaster warthog as it is the easiest switch to access. I use the D pad left and right for rudder trim.

I think he is asking on how and when you will use it. Trim is used to stress the pilot less e.g in a climb. As a plane usually will go straight forward, climbing for a longer period of time, trim is usually used so that the pilot dont have to put forces to the stick over time. Here, elevator trim (trim up) is used.

To be honest, I dont really use it that much myself but then again, I havent done much longer flight as a navigation or keeping my plane on a set course, which is when trim is usually used the most (i think).

Please help him if you can put it into words easier then me with more details to it :) Help him out..

AceRevo, yes but nothing specific to DCS here. That's what puzzled me.

Trim in DCS is nothing special, and I guess any tutorial on what is trim, what are its purpose and use will do the trick (just a quick Google search I guess).

F-15C trim is useless atm, it's too rough. Trim is used to add a fine level of control for comfort and not as a backup stick in case it fails. They need to make it more sensitive, until then it's just flat out worthless. I'm unsure why it hasn't been done already, can't think of anything that could make this otherwise simple fix difficult. But I'm no ED employee :D

It's like your plane rolls left due to weight imbalance, you try to trim and then *woosh* now it rolls to the right, much harder. What a troll system!
