NatoBoomerang Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Hey guys, Question...I'm trying to familiarize myself with the SU-27 in FC3...what do I need to do to get English comms setup (for in cockpit, ATC, wingmen, AWacs and ground crew)? The in-cockpit language is set to English, so I get the English sub-titles...which is fine. I have copied the sounds from the EN folder to the RUS folder in DCS sounds...however this gives me a mix of English and Russian which gets confusing...i'Ve seen YTube vids of guys in the SU27 FC 3, and all of their comms and subtitles are in full English....any assistance in getting this accomplished please? Thx, Nato. "it don't matter, no more..." ==========================================
NatoBoomerang Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Hey Folks, any assistance please? :helpsmilie: "it don't matter, no more..." ==========================================
Sceptre Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) I don't do it myself but I think if you set the Su-27 you want to fly to the BLUE side (same team as America), EG. Ukraine (or you can make RUS blue in the editor), then the communication will be in English :) Cockpit language just changes the language of the writing in the cockpit, and the voice of the computer warning systems like EKRAN in Ka-50. CookPassBabtridge Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I dunno if anyone ever did this, but I would love to see a "Black Shark / Su-27 Russian to English" video, where someone goes through the dials etc and explains exactly what the acronyms mean. Cyrillic is an interesting alphabet and way easier to learn than many think, but of course the Russian acronym for an instrument is not going to just be a cyrllic stand-in for english words. Case in point, this from wikipedia on the BMD, otherwise an IFV in english: BMD stands for Boyevaya Mashina Desanta (Боевая Машина Десанта, literally "Combat Vehicle of the Airborne") It would be cool to be able to fly with the original russian dials and know what they mean. Like Firefox. You must think in Russian :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I LIKE TO PLAY PRODIGAL WOMBAT STIMULATOR
NatoBoomerang Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Hey Guys - still a no go on this one when I copied the EN sounds to the RUS folder, setup my SU-27 to BLUE Force, with regards to full English Language in the Russian birds...any of you Western guys flying Russian jets can help me on this please? I got my pilot speaks English & subtitles are in English, but all other Audio is in Russian...is this how it really is in Russian birds...with an English speaking player? :dunno: :shocking: :cry_2: "it don't matter, no more..." ==========================================
NatoBoomerang Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Hey Guys - Any thoughts on this pls? :helpsmilie: "it don't matter, no more..." ==========================================
karambiatos Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 copied the EN sounds to the RUS folder, copy the files inside the EN folder into the RUS folder, the game wont recognize a random EN folder where its not suppose to be. anyway when your aircraft is english cockpit the betty will be english, the ATC will still be in russian though. A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
