How to apply for manual translation？

The Flanker is the first 4th generation fighter served in PLAAF (People Liberation Army Air Force). Nowadays, PLAAF owns the second largest number of Flanker and variations in the world. To this end, there are a lot of fans in China, especially among flight simmers.

 

We are members of a flight sim (DCS) group which belongs to a Chinese leading military forum（lt.cjdby.net）. Our members have the experience of translating the DCS:Mig-21Bis manual into Chinese(LS offically authorized). To extend the community of DCS simmers in China by bringing them localized manual for a much easier study curve, we want to know whether there exists any chance for us to get the authorization from ED to translate the manual of upcoming Flanker's Segregated module from English to Chinese.

I think we need the ED's authority first. We want to make the official Chinese manual.

Why not make an unofficial chinese manual first? The chinese reader who lacks any documentation otherwise won't really care whether this is is official or not. If ED wants to get this officially, they can authorize it later.

This is an English&Russian forum. So I recommend you to use English but not Chinese.

Then it is a matter of patience:)

You could instead start to do an unofficial translation of the FC3 module now. It contains the Flanker also. The new Su-27 module will be an updated version of that one contained in FC3...

Localisation is a community effort that is supported by ED. If there are members of the chinese community that are *very* proficient both in chinese and english language willing to provide this service, they should step forward and contact ED whether they would support a chinese localisation.
