Mig21 BIS Cleaner Cockpit Glass / Hud Glass

Sorry about the necro, but it is the only "mig-21 clean canopy mod" thread i found.

 

This mod, installed following the OP installation procedure doesn t pass Integrity Check, and so can t be used on most multiplayer server.

 

I took a close look to how a similar mig-29 clean HUD mod was able to pass IC.

 

And i found a way to, at least partially, install this mod so that it passes IC ( only the canopy texture are cleaned, the HUD is still dirty, but the canopy behind it being cleaner, it is still better than before ) :

 

If anyone find a way to get the HUD cleaned, please, post it :helpsmilie:

 

here how to clean the canopy :

 

- first, go into your DCS folder, mods, mig-21bis, liveries, Mig21_CP, and make a copy of your default and your English folder. let's call them "default fixed" and "English fixed".

 

- use a Notepad aplication ( window's Notepad work fine ), and open the description.lua file in your "fixed" folders.

 

- here, there are différences between default and English fixes :

begin with the default one, find the line :

 

{"CanopyGlass_New", 0 ,"CanopyGlass2.tga",true};

 

and set it to false. then copy it and past it into your "english fixed" 's description.lua

 

- download the mod with the link posted two posts before.

 

- choose your cleaning ( i recommend "clear" cleaning, because the HUD won't be cleaned )

 

- and copy past the CanopyGlass2.tga into your fixed folders.

 

- launch DCS, go to parameters, special, mig-21bis, and choose one of your fixed cockpit.

Thanks, that worked for me! Have you tried U-boats method of moving the mods folder to the Saved games folder instead of the route folder? I wonder if this would allow you to clean up the Hud as well.
