The radars field of view only extends 1.5 degrees below the horizontal, so you pretty much have to be below your target to paint him, if that helps.

That's probably not helping, because the problem is a bit different. I think he was talking about the problem that when you are flying at 200m, you have a very hard time to lock a target at 700m altitude. I knew how the Mig21 radar works, bro. That's probably not helping, because the problem is a bit different. I dont know if anybody comes across this, I cant lock target below 1500m no materwhat I do, except using Fixed beam.
