9.JG27 DavidRed Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) staying in your own territory is boring and there are very few people who do that... i dont know, its all training.i find myself now more and more spotting the enemy first, even when im in enemy territory and while i drag flak. the flak is an eye catcher for sure, but everybody knows about it.so if i drag flak, what i constantly do on purpose, im expecting an enemy engaging soon.so i scan the skies, and still see them coming from a good distance to get offensive. i understand, you dont like it and thats ok...but constantly bitching about the servers using it, because they dont want to use f10 fog of war labels, where people tend to go for a personal hunt on certain pilots, wont change their opinion.at least i know it wont change on acg server. do what you already did, and open your own server gavagai.thats a good thing for everybody, as im sure there are many people who enjoy the fog of war setting as well. oh and btw, fog of war is not necessarily for both sides at all times to my understanding.it depends on ground units who "report" aircraft positions if within a certain distance to them, to allied sides. dooom Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 oh and btw, fog of war is not necessarily for both sides at all times to my understanding.it depends on ground units who "report" aircraft positions if within a certain distance to them, to allied sides. yeah - im pretty sure this is correct... as far as i know if an enemy is over a friendly ground troop with fog of war or engaged with a friendly fighter, then it is "reported" on F10. thus if you are in enemy territory your likelyhood of being exposed on f10 while your opponent is not is fairly high. as for the use of flak - i agree its not ideal but we try to use is strategically and publish "flak maps" with most missions. thus you can typically fly a barcap/ingress/egress unexposed by the bursts while looking for your prey to trigger it. I personally recommend folks study the flak maps when they are available and try to use map landmarks to navigate without triggering it.
