I have heard samples of all that I have seen available on the web and IMO they all sound like what they are....computer generated. For me they would reduce immersion rather than enhance it.

That. In my campaign I used text-to-speech program with lets say reasonable outcome, but really far from perfect. Currently I am redoing the whole thing with real voice actors, the final effect and immersion is incomparable.

Still, if you want to give it a try, you could use the following websites:

What voice altering programs are recommended for making the recordings sound like you are talking on a radio? Would like to make recordings for making JTAC communications like I have heard in some other missions made.

This is what I do. I use http://www.ivona.com/en/ and I record the output from the speakers using the mic on my headset.

Then I use Sound Forge to:

  • Normalise RMS to -6dB
  • Distortion Transistor 1
  • Reverb Plate - Decay Time = 0.5
  • Parametric Eq, 2KHz x 0.7oct, Amount = -60dB. Adjust output gain to give -3dB signal.
  • Normalise RMS to -3dB
  • Volume to -3dB
